Chobani Australia says the launch of three of its products into the New Zealand market is a major opportunity for the company.

Chobani Australia general manager Demand Julia Clark said Greek yoghurt is the second largest segment in the New Zealand yoghurt category, and is fast catching up to the leading, more traditional yoghurt option.

Chobani will launch with three ranges through major local retailer Countdown.

“Having been Australia’s number one yoghurt brand since 2017, we’ve known for a long time that we wanted to share Chobani with our friends in New Zealand.

“A great product starts with the best ingredients, and that passion for food quality and standards is something Australians and New Zealanders uncompromisingly share.

“With this high trust for Australian-manufactured products and the backing of local retailers, we knew the timing was right to introduce some diversity to the category that consumers would embrace,” Clark said.

Chobani said its products offered a distinct variation on yoghurts currently on sale in New Zealand, introducing multi-serve Tubs (907g), single serve Pots (170g) and Flip (140g).

“We’re excited to share new ways to enjoy yogurt with our Kiwi friends. Our Chobani Flip range, which features mix-ins that can be added to delicious, flavoured yogurts, will elevate snack time for New Zealand shoppers in homes and offices across the country,” Clark said.

The company plans to expand into more retailers in late 2022.
